Ultradent Products, Inc. announced the promotion of Erwin Fischer to executive vice president. Dr. Fischer stated: “Erwin has proven himself loyal, caring, and hard working. He lives all our core values in quality ways.”
“Ultradent started as a family business that has developed into an extended family of over 1,100 employees,” said Dr. Fischer. “Contrary to the common evolution of many businesses, particularly in the United States, it is my intent that Ultradent continue as a private family company for generations to come. Erwin’s notable achievements include management of two major ERP implementations, certification as an Oracle DBA Master, experience as an Oracle developer and business analyst, five years with Vistage Key Executive Group, and various other IT certifications. Erwin has also been a core team member of Ultradent’s strategic leadership group.
“It’s been a great privilege for me to work with so many incredible people in seeing that our corporate vision is realized,” said Erwin. “Our commitment to dentistry and its ability to help humans everywhere is very much ‘in our blood.’ I want to see Ultradent continue to grow and succeed for many generations to come.”

Dental Manufacturer Supports FDA Ban of Baby Products Containing BPA
September 27, 2012 SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH
Ultradent supports the United States Federal Drug Administration’s recent ban (http://1.usa.gov/OoJBzt) of products which contain bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical known to cause harmful physical and psychological effects in children. Ultradent has always maintained a BPA-free manufacturing requirement for its dental sealants (UltraSeal XT® plus and UltraSeal XT® hydro).
“Ultradent does not use, nor do we plan to ever use bisphenol A dimethacrylate (the primary precursor resin to BPA when used in dental materials) in any of our resin dental products,” said Dr. Dan Fischer, President/CEO of Ultradent Products, Inc. “Furthermore, we use the purest form of Bis-GMA resin available for our Bis-GMA-based products. Using highly sensitive analytic equipment, not even a trace of BPA can be detected.”
Ultradent recently launched a website dedicated to BPA education. The website, www.ultrasealxt.com, is the host for frequently asked questions about bisphenol A (BPA) and its use in dental sealants. The tool is equipped with varied media, including podcasts, a children’s development corner, and information specific to Ultradent’s award-winning UltraSeal XT plus.

Manufacturer of the industry-leading dental sealant UltraSeal XT plus, Ultradent introduces UltraSeal XT hydro, a hydrophilic pit and fissure sealant
July 16, 2012 SOUTH JORDAN, UT
Ultradent Products, Inc., introduces UltraSeal XT® hydro, a new sealant with a hydrophilic chemistry. UltraSeal XT hydro incorporates advanced adhesive technology and fluorescent properties to offer exceptional, patient-centered results.
Based on the proven, award-winning chemistry of UltraSeal XT plus, UltraSeal XT hydro’s hydrophilic properties eliminate the need for the clinician to pretreat the tooth with a drying agent, allowing for faster treatments without compromising quality results. It also fluoresces under a black light, making it easy to check retention at the time of placement and at subsequent visits. UltraSeal XT hydro’s advanced adhesive technology securely bonds to enamel, increasing marginal retention and reducing microleakage, resulting in fewer patients who need sealants re-placed.
UltraSeal XT hydro maintains the always-BPA-free chemistry that UltraSeal XT plus has been recognized for. It is available in Natural and Opaque White shades and is easily delivered with a syringe and the Inspiral® Brush tip.

Ultradent Introduces Edelweiss
May 2, 2012 Salt Lake City, Utah
Ultradent Products, Inc. plans to launch Edelweiss, a uniquely engineered composite veneer system, at the California Dental Association Session in Anaheim this week. Attendees of the session will get a first glimpse at the low-cost, esthetic alternative to custom lab veneers.
Each composite veneer in the Edelweiss system is laser sintered, combining a high-gloss, uniform surface with a thermally tempered base. This unique manufacturing technology makes Edelweiss veneers harder than other composite veneers, resulting in greater resistance to scratching and wear.
Ultradent intends Edelweiss as a solution for those seeking a lower-cost alternative to custom lab veneers, unlocking the opportunity for dentists to offer esthetic smiles to more patients. With no need for lab work or separate appointments for consultations, impressions, temporary seatings and permanent restorations, Edelweiss allows patients to get a natural-looking, long-lasting smile in just one appointment. Edelweiss composite veneers are available in an assortment of sizes, requiring minimal adaptation and tooth preparation.
Ultradent will showcase Edelweiss at the CDA Annual Session along with the Triodent V3 system and the VALO Cordless curing light. For more information, follow our tweets (#CDAUltradent) or stop by our booth (#450).
