Frequently Asked Questions
-
Applying pressure to the sulcus and scrubbing and rubbing seems counterintuitive to me. Wouldn’t that technique cause even more bleeding?
We admit that it does seem counterintuitive at first. But years of quality hemostasis achieved with this technique has taught us that it truly does work. Scrubbing and rubbing the hemostatic into the cut tissue infuses the solution into the capillary openings, and the brush end of the Metal Dento-Infusor tip removes the excess off the cut tissue so that the only place where coagulum remains is within the cut capillary opening. A diamond bur rotating at a half million RPMs will cut connective tissue and epithelium, but the soft padded-brush end of the Metal Dento-Infusor tip will not. In addition, coagulum may accumulate around the tip, but by rubbing and scrubbing, the solution moves down within each cut capillary opening, plugging and sealing it off. Within 1 or 2 minutes, you will notice no new coagulum forming. You know the capillaries are sealed, and you know the bleeding is stopped. Should it take longer than 1 to 2 minutes, we suggest using a stronger hemostatic like Astringedent X hemostatic agent. -
I’ve seen other tips like the Metal Dento-Infusor tip for sale from other companies. Why should I stick with the original?
It’s true that other companies have created tips based on the advanced design of the Metal Dento-Infusor tip. But these tips are not manufactured with the same quality as the original Metal Dento-Infusor tip. When you purchase tips of a lower quality, you will likely find many defective tips in the pack, which can be frustrating—not to mention expensive. The more tips you end up throwing away, the more money you end up wasting. Take it from others who have learned the hard way: don’t settle for knockoffs! -
Where is the Metal Dento-Infusor tip manufactured?
The Metal Dento-Infusor tip is proudly manufactured in the USA. -
What is the Comfort Hub design and why has it been added to the Metal Dento-Infusor tip?
The Comfort Hub design is an exclusive Ultradent tip design that includes larger wings for easy syringe attachment and removal. The increased surface area allows for a secure grasp of the tip while offering a slightly concave, ergonomic hub that dramatically improves ease of use. While attaching or removing the tip, greater torque can be applied with less finger stress and discomfort.
